Utah Jazz Add Steve Wojciechowski to Coaching Staff

Utah Jazz Head Coach Will Hardy has added Steve Wojciechowski to his coaching staff. He is the second coach from the team’s NBA G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, to be promoted to Hardy’s staff, joining previous Stars Head Coach Scott Morrison.

Wojciechowski spent the past two seasons as the head coach of the Stars, guiding the team to two consecutive playoff appearances and a 41-17 overall record. Last season, the Stars secured the third seed in the Western Conference with a 21-13 season record. The team earned the franchise’s first-ever playoff victory on April 1, 2025, over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

The Severna Park, Md., native began his coaching career at his alma mater, Duke University. He spent 14 seasons on the coaching staff, serving as both an assistant coach and associate head coach under Hall of Fame Coach Mike Krzyzewski. Wojciechowski helped guide the Blue Devils to nine ACC Tournament championships, two NCAA championships (2001 and 2010), and a 441-92
record.

Wojciechowski has broad experience with USA Basketball, both as a coach and a player. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach for the 2022 USA AmeriCup team, which captured bronze at the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup. From 2008 to 2012, Wojciechowski served as a court coach and scout for the USA Men’s National Team, which won medals in both 2008 and 2012. As a player, he won a gold medal at the 1994 COPABA Junior World Championship Qualifying Tournament as a member of the USA U18 National Team before finishing seventh at the 1995 FIBA Junior World Championship as part of the U19 squad.

He also served as head coach at Marquette University for seven seasons, earning two NCAA tournament berths and recording a 124-93 record overall (2014-21). As a player, Wojciechowski spent four seasons at Duke (1994-98), earning the 1998 NABC Defensive Player of the Year award, 1997-98 All-ACC Third Team, and 1996-97 All-ACC Second Team honors. The point guard still ranks in the program’s top 10 in both career assists (505) and steals (203). A standout prep player at Cardinal Gibbons in Baltimore, Md., he was named a McDonald’s High School All-American in 1994.
