SLC Stars Announce 2025-26 Basketball Staff

Stars’ first-year head coach Rick Higgins tips off their season on Nov. 11 against the Santa Cruz Warriors at Delta Center
SALT LAKE CITY (October 16, 2025) – The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today the basketball staff for the 2025-26 season under first-year Head Coach Rick Higgins.
Isaiah Fox, Jia Perkins, James Mays, and Ryan Toolson will return as assistant coaches, while former Utah Jazz assistant video coordinator Brandon Robinson joins the staff as an assistant coach. Other staff additions include Shaan Burke as video coordinator, Brenden Morris will serve as player development coach, and Ryan Maslow joins as coaching associate.
Stars General Manager Katie Benzan, who also serves as manager of pro scouting for the Utah Jazz, enters her first season leading basketball operations after serving as assistant general manager during the 2024-25 Stars season. Jonathan Rinehart returns as team president for his ninth consecutive season and his 21st overall with the Jazz organization.
Robinson joins the Stars after three years as an assistant video coordinator with the Utah Jazz. The Douglasville, Ga., native played four collegiate seasons at the University of North Carolina, where he appeared in 130 games and was part of the Tar Heels’ 2016-17 National Championship team. He finished his career with 532 points and made 98 of 263 three-point attempts (.373).
Returning staff members also include Pete Clark, director of basketball operations; Michelle Anumba, director of medical services; Abigail Abiva, head athletic trainer; Kevin Bravo, assistant athletic trainer; Garrett Blakey, head strength and conditioning coach; Will Cohen, equipment manager; Sophie Wooten, team dietician; and Gabe Long, Jazz and Stars team security.
Higgins and the Stars open the 2025-26 season with a matinee Kids Day Game against the Santa Cruz Warriors on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Delta Center, before making their home debut at Maverik Center on Tuesday, Nov. 18, against the South Bay Lakers, the Los Angeles Lakers affiliate.
