Salt Lake City Stars Acquire Taylor Funk in Trade with the San Diego Clippers

SALT LAKE CITY (August 24, 2026) — The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today that the team has acquired the NBA G League rights to forward Taylor Funk from the San Diego Clippers in exchange for the rights to guard Max Abmas and forward Daniel Batcho.

About Taylor Funk

• Went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft after playing five collegiate seasons at Saint Joseph’s (2017-22) and finishing his collegiate career at Utah State (2022-23).
• Funk (6-8, 230, Utah State) appeared in 41 games (25 starts) for San Diego during the 2025-26 season, averaging 11.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 26.2 minutes per contest.
• Spent time with the Capital City Go-Go during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons after beginning his NBA G League career with the Maine Celtics.
