(March 23, 2026) - In their return home following a five-game road stretch, the Salt Lake City Stars fell to the Raptors 905, 116-101. The matchup marked the second-to-last game of the season for the Stars, and despite the loss and being out of playoff contention, Salt Lake City showed continued fight throughout.
The Stars welcomed over 3,000 Jordan School District students for the final Kids Day of the season, creating a high-energy atmosphere. Both teams started fast, attacking the rim early. Late in the first quarter, a 7-0 Raptors 905 run gave them a 10-point lead into the second.
Behind balanced scoring, the Raptors 905 maintained control throughout the second quarter and entered halftime ahead 60-50. The trend continued into the third, where the 905 gradually extended its lead, eventually building a 22-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Despite multiple efforts by the Stars to close the gap, the Raptors 905 answered with runs of its own to secure the 116-101 victory.
The difference in the game came down to shooting efficiency. The Stars shot 45% from the field and 32% from three, while the Raptors 905 consistently created high-quality looks. Credit goes to the 905 for disrupting the Stars’ offensive rhythm and forcing difficult shots. On the other end, Raptors 905 applied constant pressure in the paint, converted in transition, and capitalized on foul trouble that affected several Stars starters.
With the Stars out of playoff contention, the game carried added importance for the 905 as they prepare for the postseason. Despite the double-digit loss, the Stars continued to compete through the final buzzer, reflecting the team’s effort and resilience.
Dereon Seabron led the Stars with 19 points and 7 assists, while Justin Harmon added 14 points off the bench. Tyreke Key led Raptors 905 with 23 points, and AJ Hoggard contributed 18. The Stars will look to close out the season strong against the Santa Cruz Warriors in their final home game Tuesday night at the Maverik Center.
