College Article Feature: Stars 135, Legends 125

On Tuesday night, the Salt Lake City Stars pulled a comeback in the second half, defeating the Texas Legends and ending with a total score of 135-125. Blake Hinson, particularly, led the team playing a 30+ point game. 

This win points the team in the direction to the playoffs, as it “Gives them a chance”, Coach Rick Higgins says to “Scrape and claw their way into the 8th spot”. The Stars overcame their 10+ point shortfall with an impressive third quarter momentum.

Ending half time at 59-81, Texas in the lead, the Stars reconfigured at half time, completely shifting the energy of the game, and came back with a response of 44 points in the third quarter, while the Legends only held 18 points. Blake Hinson, holding the game high with 36 points after his many efficient shots and also 5 three pointers. 

Other players include Matthew Murrell - who brought in a total of 16 points, Justin Harmon with a total of 13 points, and Sean East II bringing in 18 points. Each of these helped to assist the Stars' during the second half of the game. 

Together as a team, the Salt Lake City Stars shot approximately 52% from the field, helping to facilitate the comeback that they achieved during the last 2 quarters. 

This win helped to push the team to the homestretch of the NBA G League. Their endurance and high offensive performance during the second half was just the difference that they needed to make this ultimate victory.
