(March 10, 2026) - Blake Hinson scored 36 points in his debut with the Salt Lake City Stars, leading the team to a 24-point comeback victory on the second night of a back-to-back against the Texas Legends.

The Stars came out flat in the first half as the Legends pulled away early in the second quarter behind efficient shooting and a fast pace that created easy baskets in the paint. Texas also displayed balanced scoring, with five players reaching double digits by halftime. Salt Lake City struggled to execute, losing the rebounding and assist battles while allowing Texas to shoot 65% from the field. The Legends took an 81-59 lead into halftime.

The Stars began to rally immediately after the half. Hinson found his rhythm and never looked back, scoring 10 straight points, including a 4-point play and a fastbreak dunk that energized the crowd. Salt Lake City exploded for a 44-point third quarter, taking a 4-point lead into the final period. Exceptional shooting, ball movement, and rebounding helped the Stars complete the comeback victory 134-125.

Hinson’s 36 points led Salt Lake City. Recently signed to a two-way deal with the Utah Jazz, he entered fresh off a win over the Golden State Warriors, where he sealed the game with a clutch three-pointer.

“My job’s to shoot. I brought it when I flew into Utah,” Hinson said. But Hinson showed he is much more than just a shooter against the Legends, scoring in a variety of ways, including strong finishes in the paint and several difficult runners. Coach Rick Higgins added that “it’s awesome working with him,” and said his contributions were “extremely important” in the Stars’ victory.

Max Abmas was also a major factor in the win, finishing with 18 points and 8 assists while posting a +19 when he was on the floor. Steven Crowl continued to control the boards with 13 rebounds. Dalano Banton led the Legends with 30 points, while Miles Kelly added 21 points off the bench.

The Stars will begin a five-game road trip starting March 13 against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
