Max Abmas scored 24 of his 28 points in the second half, leading Salt Lake to a 123-106 victory over Oklahoma City.
Abmas went crazy on the court, shooting 8 for 11 from the field and making 5 of his 7 three point attempts. He picked up six assists, two rebounds and had four turnovers in 34 minutes of play.
Sean East ll and Justin Harmon also played well, scoring 26 points and 23 points, respectively. East ll shot 50% from the field with 8 assists, and Harmon went 8 for 14 with 6 boards.
Mo Bamba was impressive defensively, corralling 11 defensive boards, 13 total.
The Stars started slowly, on the hills of a 9-0 Oklahoma City run to begin the game. By the end of the first quarter, they erased that deficit and led by two. They continued to build on that lead, going ahead by as many as a game high 16 points in the third quarter.
Unfortunately, Matt Cleveland went down late in the fourth quarter, tweaking his left ankle. Before leaving the game, he shot 6 for 12 from the field with 7 boards.
While the stars wait for an answer on how long Cleveland will be out, Coach Higgins says the team will continue to be “all hands on deck.”
The Stars are tied with the San Diego Clippers for No. 10 in the conference, but sit at No. 4 in the league for points per game.
The Stars will leave for Mexico City for a two game series against the Capitanes next week.
