Stars Select Four Players in 2016 NBA D-League Draft

SALT LAKE CITY (October 30, 2016) – The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today that they have selected guard Jaylen Bland (No. 15 overall), guard/forward Jarelle Reischel (No. 27 overall), forward Goodluck Okonoboh (No. 32 overall) and guard Carl Ona Embo (No. 49 overall) in the 2016 NBA D-League Draft.

Bland (6-3, 205, UC Riverside) appeared in 33 games (all starts) and averaged 16.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 33.9 minutes of action as a senior. He was selected to the All Big-West Second Team twice (2015, 2016) and was also named the Big West Newcomer of the Year in 2015. He played one season at Murray State (2011-12).

Reischel (6-7, 210, Eastern Kentucky) played in 30 games (29 starts) as a senior, averaging 17.9 pts, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 34.8 minutes per game for the Colonels. In 2016, Reischel was named to the All-OVC Second Team, as well as the All-OVC Newcomer Team. A native of Frankfurt, Germany, he played on season at Rice University (2011-12) and two seasons at Rhode Island (2013-15) before transferring to Eastern Kentucky.

Okonoboh (6-10, 225, UNLV) appeared in 37 games (31 starts), averaging 5.3 points, 2.6 blocks and 4.2 rebounds in 24.8 minutes as a sophomore. Okonoboh was also a member of the Charlotte Hornets entry for the 2016 Summer League in Orlando.

Ona Embo (6-1, 175, France) played for JL Bourg-en-Bresse in the French LNB Pro B League for the 2015-16 season. He appeared in 36 games (eight starts) and averaged 6.9 points along with 2.8 assists in 22.9 minutes per game.
