The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, will play the team’s home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. at Vivint Smart Home Arena, home of the Utah Jazz, against the Texas Legends. The game is “Junior Jazz Night” presented by Vivint Smart Home and it will feature the Junior Jazz Tip-Off Party pregame on the concourse. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Current Junior Jazz participants are invited to attend the pregame party, which will feature autograph and photo sessions with select Jazz players; a photo scavenger hunt; an appearance by Jazz Bear and Buster; face painters; balloon artists and more. Attendees are encouraged to wear their Junior Jazz jerseys and stay for the Stars-Legends game.
Jazz Gaming, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, will also have a presence pregame and through halftime at Vivint Smart Home Court on the main concourse, providing giveaways and an opportunity for fans to compete in NBA 2K. At the end of the game, the entire Salt Lake City Stars roster will be available for autographs on the concourse for fans.
The Stars, who are beginning their third campaign in Salt Lake City, won their first game of the season on Friday, Nov. 2, at Iowa. The roster is highlighted by Utah Jazz two-way players Tyler Cavanaugh and Naz Mitrou-Long, who will split their time between the Stars and Jazz this season, and Willie Reed, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NBA G League Draft.
The Junior Jazz program is the largest and longest-running youth basketball league in the NBA, featuring more than 60,000 players and an additional 13,000 volunteers who take part annually across seven states.
