Stars Complete Trade with Santa Cruz Warriors

SALT LAKE CITY (December 14, 2016) – The Salt Lake City Stars announced today that they have acquired center Jaleel Roberts and the returning player rights to forward Mac Koshwal from the Santa Cruz Warriors. The Warriors will receive its own 2017 second round pick, which was held by the Stars from a previous trade.

Roberts (7-1, 250, UNC Asheville) appeared in six games for Santa Cruz this season, averaging 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in 7.3 minutes per game.

The Evans, Ga., native was selected second overall by the Santa Cruz Warriors in the 2016 NBA D-League Draft and has been a member of the Washington Wizards (2015) and Milwaukee Bucks (2016) training camps, appearing in a total of eight preseason games. He also played for the Brisbane Spartans in Australia during the 2016 SEABL season.

Koshwal (6-10, 255, DePaul) spent the 2015-16 season with the Bakersfield Jam and Santa Cruz Warriors. He appeared in 32 total games (28 starts), averaging 6.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
