SOUTHAVEN, MISS. (November 8, 2017) — The Salt Lake City Stars (0-3) comeback against the Wisconsin Herd (2-0) fell short in front of 2,100 fans at Bruin Arena Wednesday night.
Salt Lake City fell into a hole early in the first quarter and were down 57-41 heading into the break. The Stars fought their way back into the game during the third quarter and came within three points with one minute left in the frame. The Stars were able to tie the game at 94 with 3:31 left in the fourth quarter and gained their first lead 33 seconds later on a Tony Bradley layup. Wisconsin would eventually regain the lead and hold onto it for a final score of 103-97.
Utah Jazz two-way contract player Nate Wolters recorded his first double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds to go along with eight assists. Utah Jazz assignee Tony Bradley chipped in 20 points on 9-of-11 from the field.
The Herd’s Xavier Munford led all scorers with 26 points, while Michael Dunigan notched a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
The Stars now head on the road to face the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Sanford Pentagon. The game can be seen on Facebook Live beginning at 6 p.m. MT.
