Stars Acquire Returning Player Rights to David Foster

Stars Receive South Bay’s 2019 NBA G League Second Round Draft Pick

SALT LAKE CITY (October 20, 2018) – The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, have acquired the returning player rights to former University of Utah center David Foster and the South Bay Lakers’ second round selection in the 2019 NBA G League Draft. In exchange, South Bay receives Salt Lake City’s first round pick in the 2019 NBA G League Draft.

Foster (7-3, 260, Utah) appeared in 30 games (eight starts) with the Los Angeles Lakers’ NBA G League affiliate in 2016-17, averaging 2.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 11.2 minutes. In addition to his NBA G League experience, Foster played professionally overseas in Qatar and Mexico.

Foster appeared in 80 games (47 starts) with the University of Utah (2006-07, 2009-11), averaging 3.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in 16.9 minutes. The Lake Forest, Calif., native owns the Utes’ records for most blocks in a single game (10 at Weber State on 12/2/09), most blocks in a season (115 in 2009-10) and most blocks in a career (219).
