Salt Lake City Completes Trade with Windy City

SALT LAKE CITY (January 17, 2018) – The Salt Lake City Stars announced today that the team has acquired center Diamond Stone from the Windy City Bulls in exchange for the Stars’ 2018 third-round pick and the returning player rights to center Henry Sims. In a related move, Salt Lake City has also waived guard Dakarai Allen.

Stone (6-11, 255, Maryland) has appeared in 13 games with Windy City this season, posting averages of 13.9 points and 5.7 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per game.

Originally drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans in the second round (40th overall) of the 2016 NBA Draft before having his rights traded to the L.A. Clippers, Stone saw action in seven games as a rookie with the Clippers, holding averages of 2.0 points and 0.8 rebounds.

Stone was also assigned to the Stars twice last season, pursuant to the flexible assignment rule, and saw action in nine games recording averages of 16.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 23.8 minutes per contest.

Sims (6-10, 245, Georgetown) appeared in 25 games (23 starts) for the Stars during the 2016-17 season, averaging 17.2 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 30.7 minutes of action.

Allen averaged 3.4 points and 2.0 rebounds in 27 contests (seven starts) for Salt Lake City this season.
