Stars Acquire Michael Qualls

SALT LAKE CITY (December 13, 2017) – The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today that they have acquired guard Michael Qualls. In a related move, the team has waived Kendall Pollard.

Qualls (6-6, 205, Arkansas) played for Hapoel Galil Gilboa in the Israeli Basketball Super League during the 2016-17 season. He appeared in 33 games (25 starts), averaging 13.7 points per game, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

The 23-year-old played three seasons at Arkansas (2012-15) and was named NABC All-District Second Team, Second Team All-SEC and SEC All-Tournament Team in his final season of play.

Pollard appeared in 13 games (three starts) for the Stars this season, averaging 4.2 points, and 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 in 13.7 minutes per game.

The Stars begin a four-game East Coast road against the Long Island Nets on Thursday, Dec. 14. Tipoff is at 5 p.m. MT and can be seen on Facebook Live.

Salt Lake City will return to Bruin Arena on Dec. 21 to host the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7 p.m.
